INP has appointed TIP units at the Central and Regional levels (Polda) and the Women’s and Children’s Services Unit (PPA) at the district/city level and (POLRES/POLRESTA) as a special unit that handles TIP cases. The INP’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is responsible for investigating cases of trafficking, as well as handling trafficking victims in some cases. INP undertakes surveillance, investigation and arrests of individuals suspected of being engaged in trafficking.

MoWECP in close coordination with relevant local governemnt agencies runs the P2TP2A. SATGAS Satuan Tugas TKIB (Entry Point Task Force)
Formed by governors/regents/mayors and operational at entry points where migrant workers return to Indonesia. It provides temporary shelter, medical assistance, psychological counselling and other services for migrants returning to Indonesia. This Satuan Tugas is led by the Ministry of Development and Culture in close coordination with the Ministry of Social Affairs under the Migrant Workers Protection Directorate.

Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Criminal Act of Human Trafficking
The Indonesian Task Force for the prevention and handling of TIP is a coordinating body tasked with coordinating efforts to prevent and handle TIP in Indonesia. The Task Force implements the five-years National Plan of Action for Eradication of Human Trafficking, which comprises of the following program clusters and key members:
- Sub-Task Force on Prevention, led by the Ministry of Education and Culture
- Sub-Task Force on Medical Rehabilitation led by Ministry of Health;
- Sub-Task Force on Social Rehabilitation, Repatriation, and Social Reintegration led by Ministry of Social Affairs;
- Sub-Task Force on Development of Legal Norms led by Ministry of Law and Human Rights;
- Sub-Task Force on Law Enforcement led by the Indonesian National Police (POLRI); and
- Sub-Task Force on Coordination and Cooperation led by Ministry of Manpower.
The Ministry of Development and Culture acts as the Chairman of the Task Force, while the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection serves as the daily chairman of the Task Force and leads the day-to-day operation of the Task Force secretariat.

Transnational Crime Task Force was formed based on the Attorney General’s Decree number KEPJA No. 146 / A / 11/2008 dated 12 November 2008. It has 28 members consisting of leadership, management and administration, technical operational and secretariat. It handles and prosecutes cases related to terorism, people smuggling and human trafficking.

UPTD PPA
The campaign of forming the UPTD PPA was initiated in March 2020 as a response from the Central Government to increasing trends of TIP cases. Initially, the policy of MoWECP was to support the funding and capacity building of P2TP2A which is organized by the community. It has since taken over the responsibility of running the UPTD PPA. The new policy is to mandate local governments to form UPTD PPA. The P2TP2A still operates during the transitional phase or alongside the UPTD PPA.
