Amnesty International

ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Women and Children’s Rights (ACWC)

The ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC) is a regional intergovernmental body tasked with promoting and protecting the human rights and fundamental freedoms of women and children across ASEAN.

The ASEAN Committee on the Implementation of the Declaration on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers (ACMW) is the primary regional body responsible for advancing the rights and protection of migrant workers in ASEAN. It oversees the implementation of key regional frameworks, including the ASEAN Declaration on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers and the ASEAN Consensus on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers (2017).

ACMW reports to the Senior Labour Officials Meeting (SLOM) and plays a central role in coordinating regional initiatives related to migrant labour governance. Under its Action Plan (2018–2025), ACMW supports the implementation of the Bohol Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Work Plan and collaborates with partners such as the International Labour Organization (ILO), including through programmes like TRIANGLE in ASEAN, to strengthen labour migration systems and prevent exploitation and trafficking.

ACMW also hosts the annual ASEAN Forum on Migrant Labour (AFML), the region’s largest platform for dialogue on migrant worker issues. The forum brings together government representatives from all ten ASEAN Member States, workers’ and employers’ organizations, civil society groups, the ASEAN Secretariat, and international organizations. It serves as a key space for sharing experiences, developing recommendations, and promoting the protection and rights of intra-ASEAN migrant workers.

The Directorate General of Immigration and Consular Matters (DGICM) is a regional coordination mechanism within ASEAN that promotes cooperation among Member States on immigration, border management, and consular issues.

ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR)

The ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) is the overarching regional body responsible for the promotion and protection of human rights within ASEAN. It serves as the principal human rights institution under the ASEAN Political-Security Community.

Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development

The Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) is a leading regional feminist network comprising women’s rights organizations and individual activists across Asia and the Pacific. International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children

The Asia-Pacific Financial Coalition Against Child Sexual Exploitation (APFC) was launched by the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC) in 2009 to combat the online commercial sexual exploitation of children. The Coalition focuses on disrupting the financial mechanisms that facilitate the production, sale, and distribution of child sexual exploitation materials, including live-streamed and on-demand online sexual abuse of children.

APFC brings together financial institutions, payment service providers, law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies, technology companies, and civil society organizations to strengthen collaboration and information-sharing. By identifying and disrupting financial transactions linked to online child exploitation, the Coalition supports efforts to detect offenders, reduce profits from exploitation, and enhance protection for children.

Over the years, APFC has become a leading regional platform for collective action against online child sexual exploitation. Through research, awareness-raising, industry engagement, and cross-sector partnerships, it contributes to strengthening regional capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to child sexual exploitation and abuse in the Asia-Pacific region.

International Justice Mission

International Justice Mission (IJM) is a global non-governmental organization that works to combat trafficking in persons (TIP), forced labour, modern slavery, and online sexual exploitation. Across ASEAN, IJM partners with governments, law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and civil society organizations to strengthen criminal justice systems and improve responses to trafficking and exploitation.

IJM supports victim identification, investigations, prosecutions, and legal reform, while also promoting cross-border cooperation against trafficking networks. IOM Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific

Mekong Migration Network

The Mekong Migration Network (MMN), established in 2003, is a sub-regional network of non-governmental organizations, grassroots groups, migrant community organizations, and research institutes committed to promoting the rights, dignity, and well-being of migrants in the Greater Mekong Subregion.

The RESPECT Initiative is a multi-stakeholder platform that brings together thought leaders, practitioners, businesses, policymakers, and civil society organizations to develop more effective responses to trafficking in persons (TIP) and modern slavery. Senior Officials Meeting on Social Welfare and Development (SOMSWD)

The Senior Officials Meeting on Social Welfare and Development (SOMSWD) comprises senior government officials from ASEAN Member States who are responsible for social welfare and development policies and programmes. It serves as the principal regional mechanism for cooperation on social protection, child protection, welfare services, and support for vulnerable populations.

SOMSWD contributes to ASEAN’s efforts to combat trafficking in persons (TIP) through its involvement in implementing the Bohol Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Work Plan. Senior Officials Meeting on Transnational Crime (SOMTC)

The Senior Officials Meeting on Transnational Crime (SOMTC) is the key coordinating body responsible for implementing and monitoring decisions of the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime (AMMTC), the highest regional policymaking platform addressing transnational crime, including trafficking in persons (TIP).

SOMTC plays a central role in overseeing the implementation of the ASEAN Convention Against Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children (ACTIP) and its accompanying Plan of Action. This work is supported by specialized mechanisms such as the SOMTC Working Group on Trafficking in Persons (SOMTC WG-TIP), which focuses specifically on advancing regional cooperation and responses to trafficking.

STOP THE TRAFFIK

STOP THE TRAFFIK is an international organization dedicated to preventing trafficking in persons (TIP) and modern slavery through intelligence-led, data-driven approaches. UNICEF

World Vision International
