Anti-Trafficking in Persons Committee (ATP Committee)

ATP Committee is chaired by the Prime Minister. It makes decisions and policy recommendations on combating human trafficking, and coordinates strategy across agencies. It supervises the CMP Committee. It oversees multiple other subcommittees that cover a range of topics, including data collection, combating trafficking in fishing sector. FOCUS (Foundation of Child Understanding) Thailand

FOCUS originated as TRAFCORD, (Anti-Trafficking Coordination Unit in Northern Thailand) which was set up in 2002 as a branch operation of the Coordination Centre for Child Protection Chiang Mai (CPCRC). For Freedom International

US-based FFI works in Phuket and uses a holistic approach to give people the opportunity to be free from oppression through prevention, intervention, and restoration programs. It runs a Child Advocacy Centre Phuket to educate local elementary and junior high school students about the dangers of internet-based exploitation. The Centre serves as a safe and child-friendly place where young victims of trafficking, abuse, or exploitation are able to speak to a trained forensic interviewer about the trauma that the child has experienced or witnessed. Immanuel Foundation

It is the focal point for Thailand’s nationwide network of victim shelters. SR Law Office

SR Law Office is an attorney-at-law office working mainly in prosecution assisting and also in civil society sector. It has four main working areas: 1. Legal service such as assisting victims to access rights in the justice process and change or build law enforcement norm; 2. Justice process development – representative from SR Law Office participates in working groups/ sub-committees with government agencies and provides inputs to laws on Anti-TIP, forced labour and labour; 3. Academic work – working on the curriculum with government agencies and international organisations; 4. Legal knowledge dissemination – speaks at workshops and training for government agencies and private sector working on trafficked victim support and human trafficking cases.

Stella Maris Centre for Seafarers Songkhla (Baan Suksan)

Baan Suksan was established in 1986 under the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Thailand. The Center provides assistance for women and child laborers, HIV/AIDS patients, migrant workers (particularly those from Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos), and Thai laborers who work abroad. The Center operates under the National Catholic Commission on Migration and Prisoners. It provides shelter for trafficking victims. Shelter residents get access to mental and psychosocial recovery activities; interpretation, counselling, and reintegration services; and referral to partner agencies.

Thailand’s Maritime Enforcement Command Center (ThaiMECC)

ThaiMECC is in charge of combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing and defending the country’s maritime interests. It was restructured in late 2019 from a “coordinating” to “command” center to enhance its efficiency in terms of command and administration of resources of all six state agencies involved under the Thai-MECC: Royal Thai Navy, the marine police division, the Marine Department, the Customs Department, the Department of Fisheries, and the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources.

The Exodus Road

US-based organisation that has operations in Thailand, Philippines and India. The Thailand office has Search + Rescue and Beyond Rescue programmes. Their S+R team of national investigators work with the Anti-Human Trafficking Police. Most cases are sex trafficking of minor boys and girls. It runs a survivor care centre in Thailand which serves young adult women who are survivors of sexual exploitation and human trafficking.

The Hug Project

Hug Project seeks to prevent, protect, and restore children from sexual abuse and human trafficking, focusing on online sexual exploitation of children. It supports law enforcement officers in the investigation process leading to the arrest of offenders. It takes a child or victim centric approach. ZOE International Foundation

ZOE works to end child trafficking in three ways: prevention, rescue, and restoration. It raises awareness about the dangers of human trafficking to providing restorative care and vocational training for survivors of child trafficking. Its shelters are open to orphans, at-risk children, and rescued trafficking victims aged 0 to 17 years. As part of its aftercare package, boys and girls are placed in a safe home where they receive meals, education, and vocational and life-skills training.
