ASEAN-ACT supported the Supreme Court of Indonesia in using a set of victim sensitive court indicators to analyse trafficking in persons decisions made between 2019-2021.
The analysis provides an overview for the Court of the way trafficking in persons cases are prosecuted, the evidence relied upon in the trial, the outcomes in the case and the judicial reasons for the decision.
This document is a summary of the analysis and the key findings from the research.
The key findings aim to improve court experiences and outcomes for trafficked victims by informing the development and refinement of policies and procedures, identifying training needs of judges, and establishing an evidence-base and narrative for reporting on trafficking in persons cases.
This decision analysis is possible because of the commitment of the Supreme Court of Indonesia to publish millions of its decisions on Direktori Putusan.
