Following its admission as ASEAN’s 11th Member State in October 2025, Timor-Leste has taken significant steps toward regional integration and cooperation – particularly in countering trafficking in persons. This webinar explored Timor-Leste’s transition from accession to action, focusing on its readiness and commitment to implement the ASEAN Convention Against Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children (ACTIP).

Building on years of legal and institutional development including national legislation, establishment of the Commission to Combat Human Trafficking (KLATU), and the launch of its National Action Plan (2026-2030) – Timor-Leste is strengthening its efforts to prevent trafficking, protect victims, and enhance cooperation across ASEAN.

This webinar explored Timor-Leste’s progress, priorities and challenges in implementing the ACTIP.
